Oh no, there is never any violence. Just persistance :-)
Bargaining is great, but ... you always lose ...

bentleyd

If you bargain well you may get a good price, its half of the fun. They don't hurt you, that their way of doing business :-)

starlord

That's what they do in Turkey, Goingsilver and Cevas. Been there twice now. They step up to you, ask where you are from (in English) and if you don't answer, they change languages :-)
Then they say they're the cheapest, that they got exactly what you want, they offer you apple tea, say they don't want you to buy anything and that they just want to show you something.
Then you enter and start bargaining... when you leace without buying, they come after you and continue bartering :-)

cevas

Great picture!! Thank you Starlord. I've never been there. Lorna I agree with you. I would not like to be pulled into a shop!

goingsilver

Love this scene, but I am more inclined to buy if I am not being harrassed!

starlord

You can't take it with you... so spend it all now

But that take a lot of money ..... let's see just what is money ...

starlord

Well, there's a world outside :-)
Lots of nice places to visit.

pkin38

Never been there ... I not a world traveler like you ...

starlord

Indeed they do that in Istambul, Bentley. They do it everywhere in Turkey :-) And it doesn't matter what language you speak, they speak it themselves or they know someone who does. And once you're inside, the bartering starts :-)

I love walking through a bazaar like this. In Istambul they litterly pull you inside to buy something.
Thanks Starlord :-)
