When you say worked for the IC, is that the Illinois Central? If so, maybe your brother was one of the people with whom I exchanged waves. The trains ran right through the middle of my home town.
my bro. worked in one for the IC he called it a dirt car that's why they stayed out side so much. the over the road ones were keep a lot cleaner. that todays less on on Trains
Gosh, it's been years since I've seen an old red caboose like that. When I was a kid, I would go up on the bridge over the tracks and wave at the men in the caboose as they went by. A lot of times I got a friendly wave back.
