Who needs Google when we have Robbie :-)
Thank you Robbie:)
The castle was passed into the Amboise family for 5 centuries. Pierre D'Amboise rebelled against Louis XI without success who in turn ordered the castle destroyed. I believe one of the sons Charles had it rebuilt later.
Robbie do you know why they dismantled it?
we can swim in the Loire, in summer.:-)On serious note its amazing that it is still standing and looks like new.
@ PJ: Nope, it's not mine... There weren't enough rooms in it, so I didn't buy it.@ Bentleyd: is that an invitation?@ Cevas: France (and especially along the Loire) you can find lots of medieval castles.@ Robbiel: Thanks for the historical update. Hard to believe this was built by people without any modern tools.
Wonderful shot starlord, thanks. Hard to believe that it was dismantled in 1465 by Louis XI then re-built towards the end of the 15th century!
Wonderful picture!! Thank you Starlord! A glimpse into the past. I'm glad it survived so we can enjoy it now.
Yes indeed my holiday home:-)) I would not live in it if you paid me:-)))
And I thought you showed us your house, But I see it's from Denise. Denise It must be your vacation home, because I don't see your swimming pool here.
Anything to help someone... that's me all over.
Very funny :-)))
@ Bentley: since you invited me over for Christmas, I thought it was okay. Furthermore I wanted to show Pkin where she had to clean. That saves you time.@ Pkin: Reality check :-)
You are so funny this year....
Why are you showing my house without permission???
Oh come ooooon, I thought you would clean it as a favour...
Beautiful place ..... would not want to clean that one....
