All right, all right, I was gonna say Chihuly's balls but actually I think he called them floats. Dang, there's that seven year old in me again. He sure slips out alot lately. Sorry. Anyway, I remember them as being mostly if not all, perfectly round. Up to a couple of feet in diameter(like the red and yellow one in the back). Crazy colors. Amazing techniques.

I think some of these are antiques.......if I can remember correctly....they are called "witches balls".
I Need to do some research on them. Ropes were macrama'ed around the balls and were part of the fishing nets. The balls helped to keep the nets afloat to catch the fish. They were hand blown. The glass was breakable, so new inventions were made to keep the nets afloat...such as cork, etc.
Now I don't know what is used on the fishing nets to keep them afloat...could be that hard styrofoam. I used to collect these glass balls...the small ones no more than 6 inches in diameter.
I kept them in an oval wooden bowl on my coffee table. They are still very collectable. Others may have more info than I have. Thanks for sharing this warbler....they bring back really good memories.

Love his art! Thanks for posting.
