Ostrov Markéta - Margaret island
Natural Monument Margaret Island is interesting not only for its rather atypical name, which includes the name of the saint (St. Margaret's), but also for its location - the island is formed in the middle of the pond Hejtman (26 ha) in the cadastral area Planá. The eastern shore of the Hejtman of the island is connected by narrow causeway and footbridge. The territory is closed to the public. Object of protection is old growth forest with a population of highly endangered plants. The island nest 90 to 110 pairs of gray herons (the only known colony of the Tabor). In 2008 there was the first recorded two nests and nesting endangered cormorant.
