These reconstructed ship that brought the settlers to Jamestown Va. were supurb! They, of course, were totally hand built. The Park Guide told us a few years ago, they were disassembled and taken to England. There they were reassembled and then sailed back to America, to Jamestown.

Wait, what? They built the ship and decided to sail it from England to Virginia. So rather than sail it over and back, they took it apart, shipped the parts, reassembled it in England, and *then* sailed it back? I'm having a hard time grasping a rationale for that....
