This week's Jigidi theme is "Doorways and Entryways ", so I made these kaleidoscopes from images of temple doors!

The images I used to make these kaleidoscopes are freely available on the internet. I use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

I think there are various kaleido makers for paint.net, and I can't remember where I downloaded the one I'm using from, Gail. Being freeware, there are people out there making new plugins all the time.

Here are some of the sites I've downloaded plugins from:
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/7-plugins-publishing-only/
http://www.boltbait.com/pdn/
http://paint.net.amihotornot.com.au/download/pluginspack/

And I haven't had any problems with viruses from downloading. But when I'm looking for something, I just google "(effect I'm looking for) plugin for paint.net", and can usually find it. So you could try that too.

Sorry to hear about the cat pellet problems. Maybe when you order it next, think about ordering the maximum amount that they will ship for that $25, to save a bit of money on shipping.

And my week-end is about to begin. Just as soon as I go to bed and sleep that is. It's Friday night here, and I'm dropping off the perch as we speak. But I'm only 10 hours ahead of you. So it's still Friday here too. Just the other end of it. Nighty, night. :)))

It's hard to find a puzzle of yours that I haven't done, which makes then all bookmarked in gray, so I can't leave messages on those because I'd never find them. But I found this one, so hooray!

I downloaded Paint.net, but haven't played with it yet. I've been trying to download the kaleido maker, but every website I've found that I've tried to download it, what happens is that the little gray man in my computer blocks it and tells me it's unsafe, and do I really, really want to do this? So far, I've said no, since with my luck I'd get a nasty flu or virus. Do you remember what website you downloaded it from, perhaps give me a good link to do so?

I've been having a lot of trouble with my kitty litter. Schnellie and Frankie were found by a neighbor in a woodpile, where they were born. They have herpes in their eyes and breathing problems. Schnellie's worse than Frankie's. Frankie's eyes run, but that's about it. I couldn't find my wood pellets here in Florida, so I went to Feline Pine. It's so dusty that it even bothers my eyes when I have to scoop and clean it. Schnellie's breathing has gotten worse over the last week, and she's been choking a bit, but otherwise acting fine. I went to Petsmart and got Yesterday's Mews, which is a newspaper rolled into pellets. They told me it wouldn't disintegrate so that I could scoop the good pellets out and clean the rest. Well, they DO disintegrate, and cleaning it is impossible without throwing out the entire litter bin. Not an option. My friend Marsha uses Sweat Scoop (pronounced Sweet Scoop) made of wheat. But it's $40 for a 40-pound bag. I decided to go back to the wood pellets I used to use, and went online and ordered two bags. The cost? The same $5 I paid in Oregon, but with a $25 shipping charge per bag. Ouch. It's about the same as the Sweat Scoop, and I know what I'm getting with that. Hopefully, in the winter, Home Depot will carry it and I can get a year's supply. But where to put it is going to be interesting. There's absolutely no room in the house, so it'll have to go in the shed, where my washer/dryer are. I might have to take out a cabinet in there to make room to stack them. Space is so tight in this house, unlike my Oregon house, where I had so much storage room and closets I could never fill them all. Oh well. It'll take about 5-7 days to arrive, and I hope I don't have to rush Schnellie to the vet in the meantime. I'll be keeping a close eye on her.

Have a great weekend (what's left of it for you).

I was just saying to Katie on the tiny size that I spend loads of time exploring ideas that don't pay off. But this one did - and I am really happy about how it came out. And it ended up being quite a bountiful idea, and now I have a 3x3 collage ready to go, and other unused kaleidos for more 2x2s in the future! Yippee!! I'm glad you enjoyed this one Mariasha, and kinda thought it might appeal to your sense of aesthetic! :)))

Who would have thought that doors could make such intricate kaleidos?! Thanks for a wonderful puzzle set Kirsten.
