Ah. That sounds familiar. I live a pretty frugal life too. I can't abide waste. I'm not into trends. And can't do shopping as leisure activity as many seem to these days. Love the idea of catching up somewhere exotic. And I love the sounds of the itinerary of your next trip too. They are some wonderful destinations! I'd like to get to Vietnam sometime soon too. And have been to Thailand many times. As you are going on a cruise, I imagine that you will be going to southern Thailand. Where there are some amazing natural areas! Those limestone structures that come straight out of the water (sea) are incredible. And there are beautiful caves and islands too. I adore that part of Thailand. If you can just ignore the hyper-touristy areas. Enjoy!

And the role I'll be taking on is what I love doing. It's working in learning and development - organising training activities for staff. It IS very fulfilling - helping people be the best they can be. I've had a break from doing that over the last few years - which was imposed rather than choice, as we had a restructure at my previous employer (a college!) due to budgetary constraints, and my entire department ceased to exist. When times are financially tough, training is often regarded as a "nice to have" rather than a "must have". So I'm very happy to get back to what I love doing. Thanks for your good wishes! (❛ᴗ❛)

Yes indeed, a university pension and Social Security, plus frugal living so I can do these great trips. So we'll meet somewhere exotic! The upcoming trip is Tokyo then cruise to Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, and ends in Singapore. Many things still on wish list. But New York's always ready to welcome you. Hope work is fun and fulfilling. (❛ᴗ❛)

Awww. Thanks Lucy! And sorry for not asking for your permission. LOL I have had a lovely nearly 7 months off work - but alas, I don't have the bank balance to sustain that kind of lifestyle! I have about another 10 years of working life to go, and need to make the most of it! I want a retirement like yours. At least I assume it's a retirement. If it's just lifestyle - I'll take that too! But seriously, I want to be able to afford to travel. And perhaps have a house on the coast. So it's back to work for me. I'll still be around here though. Just not for as long each day. I hope to have an hour, or perhaps two, a day on Jigidi. So that will certainly impact on how much I can solve. And commenting too. I'll miss it too. But, until being a puzzle-maker can generate an income, it will be ever thus. Dammitall. LOL

And thank you for the sweet things you said about me. I have to say, you're not so bad yourself! Who offers their NY apartment for a month to someone they got to know on a puzzle site! That's amazing! You know, I really regret that I didn't find a way to meet up, even if just for a coffee, while you were in Melbourne. Dammitall again! Ah, well. Maybe one day on your home turf............ (❛ᴗ❛)

lucyny

Um, did you get our permission to slack off? Just who said it was okay to be here less? I assume you've found decent paid work, but am not sure that's permissible in these circumstances. Well, congrats anyway; I'll miss the intelligent commentary and boundless kindness.

RandomWorship

Thanks Ardy. I'm happy too. And I'll miss being on Jigidi so much, but it doesn't pay the bills! Ah, well. All good things have to come to an end. Sigh. ((HUGS))

ringleader

Yummy, Kirsten. Read your email. So glad you have found something even if only temporary. Who knows where it might lead. I'll miss you popping in and out of Jigidi so often though. I've loved having you around so much. Thanks for a delicious puzzle. Love and ((HUGS))

Thanks Pat! I'm really pleased you like it! Have a lovely evening. (❛ᴗ❛)

Great puzzle .. I like the right corner and the one next to it .. Thanks Kirsten

I'm glad you got a real spring this year, Davon. Over here, our autumn has turned quite wintery over the last week. It's been cold and wet! But I can't complain. We need the rain. We always need the rain. Good luck surviving the heat! Extreme heat is definitely not my favourite either. (❛ᴗ❛)

davie

Starting to get hot. I'm not liking it but at least we had a real spring this year and not two weeks of cool wedged between winter and hot humidity. And the first few days of heat are always the worst. Shower before bed and then shower when you get up.

Hmmm. They wouldn't have made for such interesting kaleidos, I don't think. They were pretty simple in pattern. But it crossed my mind!! (❛ᴗ❛)

Gaillou

Instead of throwing the donut holes away you should have saved them like the real things and made a collage of them! LOL.

RandomWorship

Thanks Gail. I thought about you a LOT while I was making these. I know how much you love the centres, and I was feeling a bit guilty about cutting them out and throwing the centres away! So I'm relieved to hear that you like them. Whew! (❛ᴗ❛)

RandomWorship

I thought you might be a happy solver, Lucy! You're most welcome. (❛ᴗ❛)

Good pick up, Davon. I hadn't noticed the tulips until you mentioned it. And yep, I think this week we hit the winter side of autumn. Although you wouldn't know it as I look out the window. The sky is blue and it's sunny! But it's an aberration and will be replaced by overcast skies, rain and cold temps soon. I hope yours is warm and spring-like. (❛ᴗ❛)

Gaillou

Your donuts look delicious. The glazed icing is so pretty. Thank you, Kirsten.

lucyny

And another fun one, and so pretty. Happy Sunday for me! Thanks, Kirsten

davie

Once worked, the pale yellow is reminiscent of tulips. Thank you Kirsten. Saw your weather and seems you are settling into cooler days. Enjoy!

RandomWorship

You're welcome, Glenys! And it's lovely to see you here again. Gosh - your storm sounds pretty wild! Hope you don't blow away. The whole Dorothy thing is meant to be a story, not real life! Stay safe!! (❛ᴗ❛)

astrojoy

Thanks Kirsten - lovely and clean, sharp designs... always a pleasure to do. And yes Lillyjean - definately nice to see a distinctive change in season at last - I certainly was getting fed up with the boring same ol' days. Its wild here tonight on the volcanic plateau! I'm a bit worried my house might blow away! Its roaring wind and rain down the chimney - like a massage on my brain! :) I love a good storm (so long as I'm snug and warm and safe inside, that is).

Our weather is a bit all over the place. It did get quite cold late this week. And then today was a wonderful! 21C! With a nice warm wind. So warm, I had the house wide open, trying to get that warmth in, after a cool night. I'd like to wish that you weather warms up, but I guess I should be realistic. Winter approaches. Oh, well. Roll out that comfort food!! LOL Have a good week, Lillyjean! (❛ᴗ❛)

If they taste as good as they look they'll be divine!! Our beautiful summery autumn came to a crashing halt this weekend and comfort food has definitely been to the fore. LOL. Hoping your weather hasn't done the same. Thanks so much for this tasty puzzle.
