Taken Sunday, July 21, 2013, 7 miles south of Carlinville, IL. The sky was gray and overcast. There was a hummingbird banding festival, but by the time I got there, the hummers had gotten wise to the traps, so nothing much was happening. Pretty smart, for birds with brains the size of a BB.

You saw a whole lot more than I did, Li! Thanks!

Nice photo, LJ. It has lots of interest with the rocks and plants in the foreground, te dock and person, the reflection, the lake itself, and then the tree-lined shore on the other side. Thanks.

Nah, too small for a Sunfish to really roll!

Its kinda closed in but I bet we could get a Sunfish going, LJ!

Okay, Floyd. Glad to have you! You can bring the worms, ok?

Looks like a great spot of casting. Let's fish.

laurajane

You are probably right, lovey. I heard that one of the birds had been caught 3 times that day!

Yes, Graci. Shall we go fishing together?

Graciela

Great picture Laura! the place to go fishing!!

I watched a Nature show about hummers this past week, and they are fascinating in many ways, but I don't remember them saying anything about them avoiding traps. Some of them may have already been through them more than once so it would figure they'd be wary of them!
