Like most small towns in the midwest, the population of Sandusky is growing smaller and older. I agree with you, Lyndee, it's nice to see that the needs of the parishioners was considered.
I really like the angled entry to the church. I had the chance to chat with the rector, who gave me a little bit of the church's history. You may not be able to tell, but the church is perched on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Due to limited space between the old road and the edge of the bluff, the church was built perpendicular to the river below. Putting the entry on the front of the church, would mean that the parishioners would have needed to walk up the better part of two stories to reach the level of the chapel.
