This is from the inside of the church. You can see the staves which carry the load of the church and the post and lintel construction which helps the staves carrying. Of course it's made more artistic in wood than in stones. By the way Stonehenge is a post and lintel construction!!

Yes, isn't it interesting? I googled post and lintel and had a picture of Stonehenge and an explanation about the construction!! And then back to the stave church and see the same things just a lot more sophisticated!! Thanks so very much Jo!!
