Of course I do. Just like Heidi isn't really surreal. So what can I do to redeem myself in your all-knowing eyes? Repeat 100 times "She's taking a hiatus from myrmecobius fasciatus"? Would that work, my funny friend?
What a load of horse (bleep)! You know better than that, Gail! ((I'm wagging my finger at you in a lecturing sort of way)) Shame, shame.
The closest relatives anteaters have are sloths, so how could one be a marsupial, and one not? The Numbat eats ants, but is not a true Anteater. Like the Tasmanian Tiger wasn't a true Tiger. Or Wolf.
Hi Heidi, feel free to disagree with me all you like; that's how I learn. I was thinking of the numbat (banded anteater) from Australia, which IS a marsupial. BUT, after a little research, which I should have done prior to posting, I learned that the numbat is not an anteater at all. The nerve! Is that what you were referring to? Can I go to the head of the class, or do I need to wear the dunce cap again? I await, with some trepidation, your esteemed response.
Sorry to disagree with you, strenuously, my friend, but Opossums are the ONLY non-Australian marsupials. Sloths and anteaters are the only members of the same order (Pilosa), so closely related.
