All the Almshouses I've seen have well kept gardens. There is a large one near us which has manicured lawns and a lovely view over the river Medway. The building is called the Foord Almshouses if you have a chance to look it up. Thanks...Sue

Couldn't find much about this building on line but I do believe they are Alms Houses which were originally built for the poor of the parish. They would be occupied today usually by people who are born and bred in Zeals. Nice garden, we could have a wander around perhaps. Cheers Denise...Sue

I wonder what it was before. It looks empty, should we go in and see what its like? The garden is well tended, maybe some one does live there. very interesting. Thank you sue:-)))
