And... a great answer, Robbie.
I'm licking my lips Colin. Thanks AJ, gem and lajuin. I answered lajuin.
Thanks, gemstone. I was out for a while, but all better now - back to the puzzling.
Good to see you back, lajuin. :DDD
Jenny's great smile makes this pic!
I had grouper once on a cruise ship. I remember that it was quite tasty.
A question for you, Robbie.
I wondered how Jenny could bring it in---or even hold it as she is in the photo. It looks like it weighs almost as much as she does! Congrats to you two & brother. Thanks for showing....................
Well, obviously you dress fish the same way I do and we ALWAYS make a concentrated broth, as you do - very healthy and always good for a chowder or a "Chupe de camarones"! - or, of course, a bouillabaisse :)
Yes we did, mostly fried gently in oil and butter, egg and bread crumbs. We make a dark fish chowder with the head, shoulders and off cuts. I bet your wife's recipes are very tasty, thanks.
Yum! I'd love to let my wife loose on a fish like this!! She has a lot of Peruvian recipes inherited from my ma-in-law. Dream on, you may well say - I don't fish any more. Bet you'll make a few tasty meals with this one.
Thank you Mimi
Great picture, great stories. Jenny is beautiful, the fish is amazing - and you're lovely too Robbie!
Thank you all , good to see you again. Grouper has a great flavour.
I gnu you could never tell a fish story and you had the fish all along. Nothing like a good grouper to fill the pot.
Both beautiful specimens . Well done, Jenny.
Jenny!!! It's great to see you again! Good catch. I mean Robbie and all his humorous stories. ....and the fish too.
Now this is a fish story for real. Glad I don't have to gut it.
Great real great. love it
now thats a fish!!!Amazing that Jenny dare to grip!!!
What great fishing stories - although I liked the one about Jenny the best.
You have the best recipes for grouper, I'll bet! I can almost taste them now! Thanks, Robbie!
Nice to hear the real story! Thanks!
Thank you all and Jenny thanks you too, she loved this one! The real story.....Jenny's brother fisherman Blake caught this and we bought it. I filet the grouper, cut into two person portions, seal in zip lock bags and divide between my parents and us. I did catch one about 30 years ago on a hand line. It weighed 58 lbs and I can still remember how good it tasted! We filleted the grouper and made a rich chowder with the head and shoulders, wasting nothing.
Tha's a real fish Robbie. Congratulations, even if the story is a little bit shaky.
Oh, my, that is one big fish alright! Congrats to you both, whatever the real story is...LOL!
WOW, fabulous!! Thanks so very much Jennie and Robbie!!
Great yarn, Robbie. Jennie, you go girl!
Oh My.. WOW!! Way to GO Jenny!! oh i can think of so many meals to make with it..and mmm
Whatever the story, this is a great catch Robbie or Jenny, Thanks.
That puppy could feed the dinner crowd at Red Lobster! Nice, Robbiel!
" I am woman, hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore" (Jenny), and you senor Robbie, never doubted your word for a moment :)))
Robbie maybe she did but, I can't believe that. I think she caught it period. Good size and a lot of meals. Thanks for posting
Wow! Way to go Jenny!!!
Wow, double Wow!!!
Well congratulations must go out to Jenny here, sorry Robbie.
When my brother-in-law brings home a lovely rainbow trout the standard line is: "Is it still frozen in the middle?" hee hee
haha - wait until Robbos sees this - OMG he will be SO jealous!!! He's off-line now, Robbie, but he'll be back this arvo and when he does, I'm sure he'll show you a few LARGE crabs he's been raking.....that's before he ate them of course!!
Wow, impressive. Congratulations. [Showed this to my husband and he was jealous.] (1:11)
I believe you. Jenny can do anything she wants to. :)
Yes, the fish I lost........and Jenny caught!! 48LB Grouper. My line broke as the fish came up to the boat, Jenny jumped overboard, grabbed the fish by the gills.......held her breath for 4 minutes and brought it back to the boat..........( Well it COULD have happened like that......couldn't it????!!!!
