Yes, that's what they are........mushroom-figs......(ideal for whine OR soup).....

Robbiel

I certainly hope they weren't these lyndee, they would be planting you if you ate them! These are not ripe, they are hard and sour and would make you very sick. They ripen a deep purple colour and even then not all thatr appetizing. Thanks.

Yes Buck, the birds like them, thanks.

Heh heh Tex, the fig leaves are completely different, you joining Lela?! Thanks.

He sure would Francine, thanks.

You're welcome PLG.

I guess you could PG, need a lot of them, mostly seed inside and wine would be kind of bitter I think, thanks.

I was going to ask you if they are edible but read the comments. Just so make some jelly and send some my way...

photogent

Can you make Bermuda whine out of these sea figs?

PLG1958

Very nice! Thanks, Robbie!

Methinks 'big ears' needs glasses :) Wouldn't he looking dashing, sporting a Cary Grant type?!

These leaves look like a fig tree. Might the fruit be conjoined figs? If not mushrooms.

I love fruit chutney! What a good idea for these. I'd bet birds and animals like them too.

lyndee

I call these "gold nuggets" I paid 2.99 a lb for them this week!

Robbiel

Thanks gnt and chickie.

JC, they leave a bitter aftertaste and are better in jams or chutney. Thanks.

Never have Marilyn, most of it is seed and too much hassle. The jam I tried was quite good, thanks.

You're welcome glad.

Thanks Ardy, as I said before not the best.

Heh, heh, heh, I knew SOMETHING was coming, thanks Lela.

lelabugosi

There seem to be several bunches, Are they edible? Thanks. We had grapes in our backyard when I was a kid - mostly Concord but some others as well.

jcarroll
