Jiggy, the manatee was quite content to stay with us until a teenager came along and saw what was happening. He was splashing and making so much noise that the manatee swam away. The kid tried to follow and we told him he couldn't do that. It was a great experience none the less.

What a special experience...I would have been thrilled to do that.

When I saw them in FL years ago you could touch them but not chase them. Had one roll over in front of me underwater to have his belly rubbed.

Manatees are very gentle vegetarians...and endangered...you are not allowed to touch them.

I first have to be sure that they are sweet. Are they? Then let's go.

Jan, I wouldn't mind taking a dip there, it looks very inviting, but without those creatures!
