Oh, actually it makes sense, because it's one that's only used occasionally, but in many homes a formal dining room table is rarely used, as well. But the definition--I just looked it up--is a SMALL table used only occasionally. I guess the big formal DR table has to be treated with more respect and a nicer name...LOL!

Hahahaha, I tried to think of a synonym because I agree, it's a silly word - but it's all I could come up with.

I've always wondered about that name--does it mean that it's only for special occasions, or that it's only occasionally a table? If so, what is it the rest of the time?! LOL!
