Finally got directions to the cemetery. Found the caretaker who took us to the plot. This is where I want to be buried. I don't plan to need it soon but think we need to make it as easy as possible for those who have to make arrangements.

My mother and her parents are here. I didn't know my grandfather was a Spanish-American War veteran.

I hope the snow never gets here, Suzy but everybody is gearing up for or first real snow storm in two years. They are expecting major power outages which is what worries me. Thanks for coming by.

The cat will be happy to have food, Ardy! The snow will melt quickly :)
Nice history about your ancestors.

Good night, Dagmar. Sleep well. Thanks for visiting. Sorry I wasn't here. I had rehearsal this afternoon and then went to replenish the cat food supply ahead of the storm.

Many people from Spain fought in that war in Cuba which here is called "La guerra de Cuba", especially from the north of Spain but nobody of my husbands family was there as far as I know.
Thank you for a very entertaining night. I'm looking forward to accompany you on your trip and I hope that you will be seeing you tomorrow, meaning that you are not snowed in. :))
Good night. :))

I do think that Jigidi is a very educational site. Thanks, Hanne.

Then I learnt something today too, that Spain and America had a war in 1898. Thanks so very much Ardy!!

Mandy, I'm so sorry you don;t know much about your family history. I'm glad to share some of mine. But I agree that it's an education to visit some old cemeteries. You actually can learn a lot. Thank you.

Barb, it was good I had Yoyo with me as she noticed the part about my grandfather. I was so busy talking with the caretaker that I wasn't paying much attention. Thanks for coming by.

Thanks, Pat. Hugs.

I used to enjoy walking around cemeteries and reading the various plaques, and wondering about the people buried there... I don't know of any family members who are buried anywhere, which is a shame as I have very little knowledge of my own family history. Thanks for sharing your, Ardy :~)

It's fascinating what information can be found in cemeteries, Ardy. From your visit to this cemetery you were able to add something to your family history. :-)
