Quilt, I'm sure it was a typo on Luulla. Those of us who walked the earth while the crust was cooling can remember the wild roses. There is still a very large patch near my house and it has both pink and yellow wild roses. We had only the yellow ones where I grew up.
Looks like an old fashioned rose to me. My grandfather had huge rose bushes when I was young (back before the earth's crust cooled) and they were similar to these. Very few petals and I remember he had jars near them to catch the Japanese bettles. He told me they were destroying the roses. Nice puzzle. Thanks for sharing.
Doesn't look like a peony to me!
Monica, I know what you mean. This set has everything!
O.M.G. I want a whole set in this pattern! It's so very beautiful! Thanks pinknblack!
Quartina., you are so right on. It was listed on Luulla as a Peony, not a rose and I don't see any thistle, they must have put the wrong title on this set. Glad you enjoyed it.
I love that pale green . . . . and the gold trim . . . . and the wild roses!
