Good picture, Dottie. Ours wait until late April or May to show up in the forests. :)
You're welcome, talia2! The flower is very small and usually hidden by the large leaves.
What a beautiful flower. Thank you for posting.
LOL! Angel, I remember eating some when I was little but I must not have eaten many. Don't remember having to run from the woods! LOL!!
Great photo, Nana. The apples are ripe when they turn yellow. They taste a little like lemonade, BUT, eating more than one is a good way to get to sit in the bathroom for a while. They can really make you leave the woods in a hurry! :-0
LOL! Funny, Sis! Truthfully, I have no idea which month it is...just figured it must be May when they appear! Maybe it's May when they grow the apple! anitas, that sounds wonderful. I remember "tramping" (my mom's word) through the woods with my dad. He knew the name of everything...wish I could remember them now. Those are great memories!
Very nice. When we were children, our father would take us to the woods and we would search for these and the other woods flowers.
Shouldn't it be a Marchapple? Just sayin'!
Thank you for your comment, Gene! :)
