New puzzle on Saurday or Sunday! ... :-))))))

2dogs7cats

I had already figured out the kookaburra part but didn't relate it to stamps. It's Wednesday, where's our next puzzle :-)))))

pdevredis

Thanks--and the hint really helped, because it made me concentrate on those three alone, and that's when the idea came to me. The others could have been anything, especially with the comics! :-)))

RandomWorship

Oooh! That was a toughie! Thanks Jill!! :))) And congrats on getting it right, Pat. :)))

jill4art

Forget the new clue! Pat, you are right on! The answer is stamps!! Good job!! Barb, you are right also and correctly identified kookaburra.... that was clever detective work. The top left and right, and the bottom right were typical postage stamps. The middle top was composed of Chinese dragons, the middle row center was balloons, the bottom left was flowers and the bottom middle was a Monarch butterfly. I hope you all enjoyed it, it was a toughie! I'll post a new puzzle next weekend! ... :-))))

tigress

I'm thinking Pat may have the right answer with postage stamps. The top right could be an old Australian stamp depicting the kookaburra, and there are stamps of Calvin & Hobbes, and Archie & Veronica. Not sure about the rest. :-)

RandomWorship

I'm none the wiser! Although I really like Pat's guess for those three too. Guess I'll have to be patient and wait for the big reveal!

pdevredis

Stamps? The three you picked for hints remind me the most of the finely detailed etching on old postage.......

jill4art

Time for a hint!!!! 1st of all, Edie Barb, and Kirsten, you are right on target! The letters are, perhaps, the biggest clue! It is interesting how the words are split in a kaleidoscope. Kirsten, you are correct about the mirrored words, but, there is no "r " shown, that is a partial letter. It is an "o". Secondly, the word that is shown, is missing the beginning and the end.

The clues I was planning to give is that the 3 images that would best be clues to the category are the upper left, upper right, and lower right. The others, although examples of the category, would in no way indicate the answer! They simply are examples of the answer. There are probably a blue million examples I could have used instead! To me, the top left, gives the greatest hint because of the lettering and the appearance, particularly if you try not to see it as a whole but look closely at each detail. ..... I,will post one more clue tonight, even if someone has guessed the answer. You'll all know tomorrow!.... :-))))

RandomWorship

Me too re the wording, Edie and Barb. It looks like the same word that has been mirrored. All I can make out is rokab bakor. As it turns out "bakor" is a name. But I don't think that helps. Oh, the mystery of it all!

tigress

Edie, I was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately, the letters are cut off so not sure what the whole word would be. :-)

2dogs7cats

Does it have anything to do with the writing around the top right one?

tigress

Newspapers?

BarbaraL

Lunchbox? book bag? or sports bag?

RandomWorship

Gift wrapping paper? Or gift cards? Although I agree with Mandy - that centre one seems out of kilter with the rest.

niccolino59

Butterflies? Sweets? Flowers? Flags?

monza006

Cushion covers, curtains, lampshades???
That central one is the oddest - LOL
I love the purple one, thanks Jill

jill4art

Nope.... no correct answers yet. Keep trying and look c-l-o-s-e-l-y! .... :-)))))

2dogs7cats

Has to be comics but other than Calvin and Hobbs, and Veroncia I can't make out any others.

Queenbee2b

I have to vote with Comics. They are delightful designs Jill!! Thanks for the fun!! :)

tigress

The only one I truly recognize is the middle right which is Veronica from the Archie comic strips so I have to agree with glgl and go with Comics. Bottom middle looks like a monarch butterfly. Pretty kaleidos, Jill, thank you. :-)

RandomWorship

Children's books illustrations? Which is mighty close to Jacqui's (maryk90B) guess, and glgl's for that matter. Guess I'll have to tune in next Wednesday to find out. Can't wait to see what Rains thinks! LOL Thanks for the lovely kaleidos, and the fun game, Jill. :)))

glgl

Comics? Whatever it is, it's lovely, thanks.

Proobear

jill4art, jelly moulds? (Oops, that wasn't one word!) Also one looks like a very old plate I have. Sorry, more words. LOL Nice puzzle, thanks.

maryk90B

Drawings?
Thank you jill4art, I love your kaleidos.
