used to be a park near us when I was a kid called Jesmond Dene that would have been a wooded glen with a little river, very popular
Or Dean's Castle perhaps? Actually I looked because it's so pretty. It was named thus because dean/dene was a wooded glen. It was originally Kilmarnock Castle. Thanks June.

Maybe that's the owner's name, Mr. Dean Castle. Hee hee
