Castle of Chenonceau

Thanks for a neat puzzle, really enjoyed it.

The tragedy of this beautiful Chateau was, having been built over the river, it was too dank to live in.

This would keep the enemies out, but how do the owners come and go? Is there a drawbridge we can't see? Thanks greekoldlady!
