Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This is a very strange bird. Usually the jackdaws scare very easily and always stay outside the balcony. They clasp a bar of the balcony and try to feed from behind the feeder.
This one however comes inside the balcony. He`s quite clumsy and something once happened to his left eye. I can go outside without scaring him off. Could it be that he`s once nursed back to health by humans???

Thank you Postpostgirl, BrightSky, Jyl, Niccolino. Liertje and Frank for your comments.
You might all be right in thinking he could be blind in his left eye. I didn`t see him today but I will try to find out next time he`s visiting again!

I really, really love this set. I hope the bird continues to visit.

Or maybe he can't see you out of his left eye? This is a great shot of such a handsome bird.

jyl

Have you considered that he may be blind in his left eye? With only one eye working, he wouldn't have depth perception, which would account for his apparent clumsiness. When you don't scare him off, take a look at him and see whether he would be looking at you with his left eye. Just a thought.

He's also quite lucky to have found your balcony - a safer ground for him than many other places would be and a steady source of food and water. Fine photographs - the wing on the bird bath is a treasure, though it's a sad story that's brought him to that state...whatever that story might be.

We also get the occasional jackdaw visiting our balcony but, you're right, they do scare easily. You're lucky to get sure an unusual visitor.
