They belong to a friend, chickie. I wish I could remember the name of the breed, they are excellent producers. The cold dosen't even seem tu bother them!
Thanks, rob! Thanks for the history lesson, chookies! I do not remember hearing of it, that had to be terrible. lets hope and pray that you never have a repeat!!
Morris, we are all thinking back to Feb. 16th 1983 to what we now call 'Ash Wednesday' when 180 fires fanned by 110km/h winds were out of control throughout 2 States, killing 75 people, destroying 3,700 buildings and leaving 2,500 families homeless. 340,000 sheep, 18,000 cattle and numerous native animals were destroyed in what we call the 'deadliest bushfire in Australian history'. Just thought that may interest you, morris....
I wonder if chookie is gonna lay you a nice fresh egg morris? I'll send her some of our rain if she likes - we're due for a bit more over the weekend! Nice shot by the way!!
It's heating up again, morris. We've had a few weeks of mild weather but it's forecasted to be around 100(F) for the next few days with no rain in sight. I can't remember when it rained last - it's been so long. I was out watering at 6.30 this morning and it was already around 80(F). It was a shocking night for sleeping also. Oh well, afterall, it is summer!!
