This week's Jigidi theme is "Doorways and Entryways ", so I made these kaleidoscopes from images of temple doors!

The images I used to make these kaleidoscopes are freely available on the internet. I use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

You only had to wait about 5 minutes!! Goodness me!! LOL I'm over at your place. I've done one. Now I need to do two, three and four! I'm enjoying YOUR magnificence!!

octomom

Tapping fingers and toes, restlessly awaiting your magnificent upcoming creation. How do I know they'll be magnificent? You're predictable (in a wonderful way) and I'm prescient!

RandomWorship

I'm a bit partial to that top right myself, Rosie!! And I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this one. :)))

These are really beautiful and I like all of them but my fave is the upper right corner--I see more of the wood in that one. I also see the swallows in the blue one and see the eyes starring out at us around the outer edge of the bottom right one. I enjoyed this lots. Thanks, Rosie

RandomWorship

Thanks Magda! Once I got started looking for colourful temple doors, I was suprised to see the variety in them. I think the top left was a yellow and bronze temple door, and the bottom left was from an ornate Chinese temple. And that's not the half of what's out there. I now have some kaleidos in pinks and soft blues and greens! Which I'll post anon. I'm glad you enjoyed these ones. :)))

RandomWorship

Hi ya Gwen! I was certain there would be creatures a-plenty in this one for you!! And I can see them all, including your swallows! Thanks for sharing your creatures with us. :)))

oldiepumpkin

Very beautiful puzzles, as usual. I can see temple colors in the brown/golden ones, but where did you hide the temple in the other twos? Thank you dear.

Chailie

Hi Kirsten. Managed to get to your puzzle earlier today and very glad I did. What a beauty!! It seems I am not to be let off finding critters today so here goes. The tiny faces around the outer edge of the bottom right circle look to me like timid rabbits partly hidden. If you look closely you can see their 2 little teeth. The larger faces conjour up an image of ornate fish with gold heads. And can anyone else see swallows in the blue puzzle?

RandomWorship

Hi ya, traveller!! :)))

pkin38

Just stopping to say hi and moving on....

RandomWorship

Whew! But I thought it was a lovely poem. Duncan has slipped off to bed now, but I might chant it to him in his sleep when I go to bed. Perhaps it will have an effect!! LOL

octomom

It's really absolutely nothing to worry about. It was much more a disparaging remark about my abilities to create poetry than about your posting time. I understand what it's like to have to work for a living. I used to work too many moons ago, and frequently wouldn't get everything accomplished and would have to forego things. You never would have seen me on Jigidi while I stll worked.

RandomWorship

Sorry Gail!! I would accommodate the earlier time if I could, but I just can't. This wage slave has to keep working I'm afraid. And I really like your poem. I'm just a bit tired. Sorry if I didn't express myself well. :(

RandomWorship

Oh, Gwen!! you're addicted for sure! LOL And the weekly themes are announced by Sue on her sue1 or sue49 profile. I have her in my favourites so I can keep on top of it. I think she usually announces it on a Thursday. Which I find a little too close to my Monday theme puzzle for my comfort. But somehow I mostly manage to handle it!!

octomom

Okay, then, at least I can go to sleep knowing I tried my best. Maybe not my best poem, but at least my best attempt at persuasion.

roadworn

Now I have started doing the kaleidos, I find myself looking at things and wondering how they would blend.

Where do I find the weekly themes? Sometimes I see them mentioned in a title, but there must be some other way to know. Thanks.

RandomWorship

Me too Edie!! Ardy is one of our most expert "puzzle interpreters" on Jigidi!!

RandomWorship

LOL Gail! I think I'll use that chant. But there's just one teensy problem. It's not a one-off catching up issue. It's that I need that extra time EVERY night, to do last minute stuff on my puzzles. And I often don't get home 'til late, with appointments after work. Sorry. No can do. Cute rhyme, or no cute rhyme! LOL

octomom

Yeah, sure, disparage Duncan just because he won't cook dinner for one night to let you get caught up. That's all it would take - ONE NIGHT! C'mon Duncan. Do we need to set up a Facebook page to taunt him?

Dun-can, Dun-can,
come on, man, and be a man,
Make your dinner for just one night,
And all on Jigidi will be set right.

Thank you Ardy, I knew you would see them too.

RandomWorship

Ha! There you are - on a critter finding expidition! Thanks Ardy!! :))))

RandomWorship

I promise to keep posting at this time until October, Edie! Or should I say Speedy Edie! LOL I'm glad you can still see some of the decorative elements in the kaleidos too. I tried very hard to make them come through. And if Ardy doesn't find the critters, Gwen (Chailie) certainly will!! Hope you have a great day today, and I'm glad you got a bit of a sleep-in. :)))

ringleader

Wasn't going to comment again but in the bottom right I spied those owl eyes looking at us from outside the framework . Then there are the brown faced people wearing warm head coverings in the vertices of the frame. Night night again. ((HUGS))

RandomWorship

I know, Gail! I have disgraceful priorities, don't I? LOL What I need is a rich benefactor, so I can give up work!! And I can assure you that Duncan ain't it!!

2dogs7cats

Please don't start posting earlier. This is so perfect. Like today I slept in a bit and you're still here. Sorry Gail. These look like they would be very expensive doors. Very carved and ornate but they sure make great kaleidos. The bottom right is abounding with critters. I'll let Ardy sort them all out. Thanks Kirsten really enjoyable.

RandomWorship

Thanks Gwen!! I LOVE the weekly themes. It's such a challenge to figure out how I will respond to it, in MY style. When I first read what the theme was going to be this week, I didn't have a clue how I could make kaleidos out of it. Well, kaleidos that were interesting anyway. And then the light bulb went off! Temple doors!! They were such fun to kaleido. I really liked getting some of the interesting elements in the kaleidos. For example, parts of the lock can still be seen in the top right. And now I have quite a few kaleidos made from temple doors, and I look forward to posting more collages of them later! I'm really glad that you appreciate them!! :)))

octomom

Since when do chores take precedence over your Jigidi obligations? Huh?

roadworn

Ooh, super puzzle. Cool idea. Doors are one of my favorites here on jigidi and these kaleidoed nicely. I like the top left. Thank you for putting these together during your time change and busy schedule.

RandomWorship

Thanks Barb! I'm really glad you like it. It's a bit of a change of pace from yesterdays puzzle!! :)))

RandomWorship

I like your take on that red one, Gail! I love steampunk!!

And I can post earlier in terms of the 24 hour limit. But it's a matter of what I have to do when I get home from work. I post at 8:30 pm my time. Posting at 7:30 pm would be when I'm finishing up my dinner, and doing the dishes. And posting before dinner doesn't work for me either, as I often need that little bit of time between when I get home from work, and start making dinner, to make my final preparations on my puzzles. In the instance of this puzzle, 2 of the kaleidos didn't exist until I got home from work, only a few hours ago! I basically pulled the while thing together after work! So it's just not possible to post any earlier, I'm afraid. Or at least until DST comes back again in October. Sorry. :(

tigress

Hard to pick a fave today, Kirsten. I like the depth in the top right and the colours in the bottom 2. Overall, perhaps the bottom left. :-))

octomom

Nice one, Kirsten. The top right is my favorite, reminding me of some kind of steampunk contraption.

I know you said you'd be posting later these days because of DST, but is there some way you could get back to your regular time by posting earlier and earlier until you're back there if you wanted to? I know I can post almost an hour earlier each night, since Jigidi seems to run on a 23-hour clock.
