Why are you reporting this puzzle?

British merchant Peter Durand made an impact on food preservation with his patenting of the tin can on 19 January 1810. In 1813, John Hall and Bryan Dorkin opened the first commercial canning factory in England. In 1846, Henry Evans invents a machine that can manufacture tin cans at a rate of sixty per hour. A significant increase over the previous rate of only six per hour.

My mug is on my home desk! Not big enough for work!

That's so lovely that you kept and still use her gift! I use a mug with a broken handle - LOL!!!

I have a set of three cans that my daughter covered in felt and decorated when she was about 6 as a gift to me. It sits on my office desk holding all those extra pens and pencils that end up rolling around the desk. Very helpful and a nice trip down memory lane when I look at it (she's 26 now!)

Thanks Skpy - I know - I thought that 60 in an hour was amazing... especially in 1846!! I dread to think how many get produced today and everyday, not to mention how many get trashed into landfill! I loved so many of the re-cycling uses I found I pretty much made a puzzle of recycled cans!!

Wow - think of it, 60 in an hour! I wonder what the 'tin' can machines accomplish today... Love the set of drums.
