Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This was taken from the bridge which brought us out of Vermont and into our home state of New York at Crown Point on a recent trip If you'd like some background on this pre-revolution fort, go to this site:
http://parks.ny.gov/historic-sites/34/details.aspx

(The monument is not part of what remains of the fort which is across the street. It's the Champlain Memorial Lighthouse.)

I agree with you about the Adirondack air, dk. I've gone on many a canoe trip in the Dacks. Thanks for telling folks about TURN; it has gotten good reviews.

Yeah, I think it's more often a guy thing. :-)

Wow, It would have been in the 50's and I don't think we had to pay at that time. I stopped with my kids in the 80's and paid but don't remember how much and it had been touristeed up at that time. Can't imagine what it would be like now. I still get a kick out of walking around and actually putting a hand on the old cannon and peering through the porthole and imagining. It's a guy thing. I guess. thanks Pat

You're very welcome, Tim. Thank YOU for telling me you enjoyed the pictures. Fort Ticonderoga was the last planned stop on our trip before heading on into Albany for dinner with a friend (Dris651) and then on to home the following morning. But it was mid-afternoon by the time we got there and would have cost more than nearly $60 for the four of us to go in for a very short time. Money flows less readily at the end of a trip, doesn't it. Next summer. :-)

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us all. One of my favorite places to go when a kid was to Fort Ti. I read all the novels and history books back then. One of my favorite stories was of the Green Mountain boys. Enjoyed seeing the area again.

Thanks very much, Donna. The sky was very strange that day and momentarily opened up on me about 30 seconds after I took this. :-)

Stunning picture, pat. I love the "almost dark" of the picture and I love the scene too, especially the Lighthouse and the mountains. This is soooooooo pretty, and thanks for posting.
