I am very shure this is a TYPEWRITER, Brand name SMITH. Many years later 2 companies merged.SMITH-CORONA, we used one in our office for many many years. Good thing do they have improved a lot after this picture of a vintage model. And then came the computer age. Thanks for posting such a interesting object MAXINE.

I can only go by what is written on the typewriter.

Do you know what company made this machine? It doesn't really look like a typewriter, but more like it might produce something else like the paper rolls for a player piano or the paper designs they used to make for fabric. It's very interesting... Thanks.
