As part of the FBI's recruitment protocol they send a pair of Special Agents to your place of employment to catch you in your normal routine. I worked the desk in a library. I made sure that when they walked in I was busily knitting away, answering the library users' questions. They were shocked at first, but then I asked them to name a more convincing cover for surveillance. No enemy agent or gangster ever says, "Look at that guy sitting there knitting. I bet he's an FBI man!"

This makes me think of Rosie Greer. He was a defensive player for the Rams and did needlepoint to relax. Nobody EVER made fun of him!
