pg, thanks for the info. since it will be -10*F tonight without the wind chill, I am not going to worry about water for the birds, they will have to go down to the river or do they eat snow?

they come for the berries and need a lot of water to drink so if you have the berries you need to supply them with water for them to stay put for a little while.
