Why are you reporting this puzzle?

The tree is behind the house over the street, and I took this from our front veranda yesterday. I love my zoom :)))

Thanks Nicky :))

Another fabulous shot, robyn.

I sure am Dave - it's terrific for long zooms! Thanks!

AAWW! Thanks Ami! They do look like berries but the Lorikeets are nectar suckers and they have a special tongue ( bit like a cat's) that allows them to suck up the nectar in the flowers!! Thanks!

loveydear

I love the photos you're getting and sharing Robyn!!! I thought the flowers looked more like berries though! Keep up the good work!

warbler

If you took this shot from the veranda, your probably loving your monopod, too. Excellent, Robyn!

robryan

The flower crop seems to be a bumper one this year Shirley, and the birds love it!! Thanks!

They sure are dondi - although I find my monopod really helps when I'm using full zoom! I'm really enjoying the learning process so far!! Thanks!

I'd guess that's the reason Lyndee - this one doesn't flower every year, but when it does it's a real treat! Thanks!

That's nice to know Gracie - thanks :)))

I agree 100% Suzy - thanks!!

pumpkinhead

Not only do you have beautiful birds, you have them perched on beautiful trees!

Graciela

Thanks for posting all these beautiful birds Rob, makes me smile.

lyndee

Guess I didn't realize this plant gets flowers. I've had mine 10 years and it's never had any. Guess it's because mine is a potted plant and I keep it inside.

dondi

Very nice. These new large-image ultrazooms with image stabilization are a real boon to the bird lover!

Shian2

He has a large supply there, Rob. First time I've seen the umbrella tree flower, very pretty.

robryan

Thanks Mags - I guess you call them that because of the way the leaves are displayed in a spoke-shaped formation! We've got it pretty hot today too & all this week it's supposed to be around 35C - 95F! Being on the coast - we have pretty high humidity too.

Thanks Barb:)) They can get really tall - this one is in a back yard and would easily be 6-7 metres high!

SunnyBarb25

Another great shot, Robyn :) I used to grow the umbrella tree (Schefflera) but they are way too big for home growing...

Snap! I'm also in the southern hemisphere enjoying hot spells - NO! Not hot flushes! My neighbour across the way has the same trees (We nick name them Wagon Wheels - don't ask me why, dunno) but the birds here aren't crazy about them. The Monkeys on the other hand love them because the height gives them an advantage when keeping a lookout or bombing down on one another! ;-)))

robryan

LOL!!! That's summer here in OZ Beekay!!! And....the Kookaburra chorus just kicked in :))))

Beekay

Yup, there you go again, colorful birds and colorful plants. (。◕‿◕。)

robryan
