Why are you reporting this puzzle?

. . . after an historic 27 inches of rain in 24 hours! Taken on Wednesday, April 30. The water is actually not as high as it had been - you can see the top of the concrete picnic table now!

Wow, this weather is all over the place!! I know you are READY for some spring weather!!

Marian_Black

It's good that you were not washed out - we are still getting snow on and off here in Calgary, and the temperatures at times drop to minus digits....so much for Spring, we are still in winter....since October last year!!!

bayhome43

Glad you didn't suffer any damage :-)

Duine

To tell the truth, I had no idea anything was going on. Just hearing the rain and thunder and surprised the length of time it took until over. I don't have a tv or know anyone in the area. I just do puzzles and play Sims2, watch a bit of tv on Hulu and that's it. I thought to check internet for weather but the power went out before I found anything, lol.

Yes, fodus! I noticed this afternoon that the tops of the concrete seats around the table are on the ground. I guess they were not heavy enough to resist the waves!

fodus

Good thing the table in concrete, or it would be gone!

ikook - I took a nap today and when I woke up (about 4 pm) the water was down below the dock :-) The damage is not NEAR what I thought it would be! Tomorrow morning (it's about 9:30 pm now) the water will probably be back at it's normal level. The whole ordeal was just so unusual for us - sort of like a hurricane, but not the wind to go with it. We still had strong winds all Tuesday night - whitecaps and waves on the bay - but not nearly as bad as a hurricane! Thank you for your concern :-))

Duine, wasn't this something!!! I went out to eat tonite with some friends and drove across town to the Marina Oyster Barn on Bayou Texar. The roads were fine, and I didn't see much standing water. Things seem to be getting back to normal - yesterday almost seems to be a bad dream!!

btw, Boston Jack - Boston is my second fav city, next to Pensacola, and the Red Sox are my fav baseball team next to the Atlanta Braves! One of my best memories is seeing the green monster in person!! My Godson and his wife live in Chelsea and we visit often!

bayhome43

Sandi, thank you for your "sunshine wishes" :-) Things are much better now! The road crews are out fixing the washed out roads and people are getting around easier. Boston Jack - you are funny :-) Water is in my dna and we take the good with the bad down here on the Gulf Coast - who else would put up with hurricanes every few years?!?

ikook

The water still seems to have a long way to go...

I live in Pensacola. The thunder, lightning and pouring rain for over 24 hours was something else. I don't get flooding in my tiny neighborhood though. Power was out for about 7-8 hours during the night.

SandiT

You must live in the Florida panhandle. I have a friend in Pensacola and she said her yard was a lake also. That was quite a deluge. I wish some sunshine for you guys now to dry things out.
