Roseheather-- love this series. I am on Replacements but have done better on ebay, even finding almost new pieces at great prices. One has to be patient but it is worth it.
Cool! A small world and all that... I was there about three years ago en route to Florida from Toronto. It is a wonderful facility and I just love the story of how Bob Page started the business - do what you love and the rest follows? Plus, the company encourages "bring your pet to work" and advocates for other businesses to do the same. Love it! (I've bought china and silver too...for both me and my mother-in-law.)
Puzzaddled, I have been at Replacements Ltd in NC! Last January we took a glass goblet in to see if we could get a replacement for one my husband had accidentially broken. It was only depression glass but such a lovely pattern and color. That is one impressive place and business. I have replaced some forks for my flatwear set through them. ; )
I used to do a lot of looking at china on the web and at old china patterns stores when I was augmenting the set my Grandma gave to me. It was fun to look at old patterns and this one sort of rang a bell. I may have seen it at Replacements Ltd in NC. I think this is one of the designs that has been reproduced since it is pretty and doesn't scream "presidential". Is that a coat of arms at the top?
Thank you, Puzzaddled, PD, ZQ for giving this a try. The china is from U.S. Grant's administration. Seems like a soft image for a president who was a military man.
I'm not sure what the flower is--if I knew, maybe it would be a clue--the state flower of his birth home, perhaps. It's lovely, but I have no clue--no handy initials this time!
