Why are you reporting this puzzle?

On Monday, August 4, 2014 I turned in my keys to our new principal. I am now completely and officially retired as far as the school is concerned. Do you think I look sad?

Thanks, Su. That's exactly how I feel - how did I ever have time to work!!! Talk to you Monday (I hope) I already answered your email.

Trouble_and_Frog

Hi Ardy . . . sorry I'm so late to the party.
WOW . . . you finally did it but I bet you don't stay away for too long and pop back regularly that's if you find the time. When I retired I thought there would be loads of time to do the things that I wanted to do but now I wonder how I used to fit work in as there still aren't enough hours in a day.

I have just sent you an e-mail and realise that I forgot to say that I will be around on Monday . . . lol

ringleader

Yvonne, I'm really enjoying this. You were fast. Wow. I'm taking a beginning of school vacation trip. Two weeks from today should be on Cape Cod and then heading for Toronto for a couple of weeks. Puzzaddled will be with me. We'll also meet bookish, Tigress and 2dogs7cats. Then she and I and her hubby will come down here for a week and do some of the touristy things in Washington, D.C. and environs. I live on the northeastern edge of D.C. I'm so excited. I haven't been "free" at this time of year for 73 years. I'm making the most of this.

SamSammy

Love this picture Ardy! Had to 'fight' my way back on the board! Couldn't resist! Sorry Ank!! But Micky is still present! Are you having a good time Ardy!!? I think so! Love and hugs :))

ringleader

Faye, my big problem is that my friends are still teaching. They would love to be retired but they are too young. ☺ But I love having young friends. Thanks for coming by.

gemstone

It is special, Ardy...you don't HAVE to go in! When friends of ours who are teachers, too, finally all retired, we would get together for dinner out on both the first day and last day of school to celebrate that we no longer HAD to be there! ;D

ringleader

Pat, you have had a husband, three children, grandchildren and pets. You are no slug. You are one lovely, busy lady who has worked harder than I ever had to. I had nothing but me to take care of and be accountable to. What else was there to do? I'm glad to be leaving while they are still wishing I would stay.

The teachers are back this week and the children come Monday. And I don't have to be there and won't be!!! First time since I started kindergarten 73 years ago that the first day of school has not been special for me. You know, I'm relieved.

pdevredis65

I call myself retired, too, but, after seeing the number of years you worked, I decided to total up my own (which started in college and ended 13 years ago), and it came to 40 fewer than you.......I guess I was really retired MOST of my life! You make me feel like a slug! LOL!

Congratulations, and enjoy yourself, and try not to be like one of Pavlov's dogs every time you hear a bell ring...... :-)))))))))))))))

ringleader

Congrats, Faye. Enjoy Callie Lou. She's a lovely dog. Have a good day.

gemstone

Hey! I even made the board on this one! Most unusual. ;D

Now off to do my "Callie Lou" bookmarked puzzles. ❤☺❤

ringleader

Thank you, Micky. It was 54 years at that school but I had been teaching 2 years before I went there so my total years of teaching is 56. I thought it was time for a change. Cuddles and scratches for you my little friend.

Micky2002

Yes aunt Ardy, you really look happy and now I see it, there is written after 54 years☺ Wow
Have a bowwow day, lovely licks♥

ringleader

Thank you, Jan. I am looking forward to being able to take a trip at the beginning of the school year. September is usually such a nice time to travel. I'm delighted to see you today. Hope your September plans are coming along OK. Love the hugs. Sending some back to you. ((HUGS))

JiggyBelle

You look ready for lots of fun new adventures. Good for you, Ardy! It's a great photo. I am sure they will miss you so much. Hugs to you, my friend.

ringleader

Thank you, Jana. It feels great so far. Hugs.

Janazlouky

Dear ARdy. Congratulations and a very happy retirement.
Enjoy many years of health and a lot of fun ♥ ☺☺☻
Thank you, that I could participate in such a beautiful moment ♥ hugs dear friend.

ringleader

Thanks, Yvonne. One never knows.

SamSammy

If you ever decide to take that leap across the pond.....!!!! I would love to show you around!!! :)))

ringleader

Lynn, I'm thankful I've been able to be an asset to the school for so long. I know I'll still be connected. It's been my home away from home for so long. BTW I'm Ardy. Haven't seen you here before. Maybe you'll come again. That would be nice.

ringleader

Mentally I'll be doing that Lyndee. Physically that would be a bit dangerous. Wouldn't do to break anything at this stage. Thanks . BTW I'm Ardy

ringleader

Thanks, Yvonne and Sam. Wish I were including both of you but it's quite a leap across The Pond. This new principal seems to be a really nice guy. I think I've been through 14 different principals here. I don't want to break in any more! I don't remember what we were laughing at but I did feel rather impish. So on with my life.

ringleader

Thanks, Elizabeth. I have loved the time I spent - well most of it - at the school but the time has come for me to leave. It is no longer fun. I'm probably thinking of getting back home to Jigidi where we laugh and cry and argue and hug among other things like solving and making puzzles. And making wonderful friends. I do appreciate everyone.

Ringleader, congratulations! I have never seen so many comments on a puzzle. Have fun and enjoy, you must be very proud of yourself?

lyndee

Congratulations Ringleader........go kick up your heels!!!! :))

SamSammy

♥ Hurray!!!! I agree with Esrevell... you look a bit mischievous! Ready to start new adventures! I wish you a wonderful time Ardy!! You deserve it!! Have fun! Say hello to all the Jigidi friends you meet on your travels! ♥ Hugs from us both :))

esrevell

Congratulations!!! I hope I am not far behind you. No you don't look at all sad! You look... hope I'm not reading too much into this... well... mischievous! Looking forward to doing something that may get you in a little bit of trouble. LOL!! I hope hanging out with us will be part of it!

ringleader

Thanks, Faye. Wish you were in Ontario so we could get you in on this trip. I don't really see me getting to the west coast of the US or Canada. I'm having a 3 1/2 week party and have invited a few Jigiders to meet me along the way. Then I'll settle down, get the church bell choir back in rehearsal for Christmas and see what else I can get into.

ringleader

Thank you, Naoma. I really was not sad and still am not. It seems strange not to be thinking of school starting and what I need to do.

ringleader

Bow wow, Micky. Would love to come visit and cuddle you. Thank you. ♥

ringleader

Thank you, Ank. Wish I were active enough to make a trip to the Netherlands. Was there over half a lifetime ago but for such a sort time. We never got out of Amsterdam except to go from and to the airport.

ringleader

Thanks, Sissel. I really looking forward to it. You understand!!

gemstone

It's about time! Time to partaaaaay!
You will love being able to get up when you want to (if Fluffy will allow it!), doing what you want when you want, taking as long to do it as you please, lunching with friends, perhaps grabbing a little nap here and there, doing tasks you've been meaning to do but somehow never got around to, and staying up really late on jigidi! LOL
Congratulations again, Ardy, for a job very well done for a very long time! Blessings...and start packing! Hee hee

0829

Congratulations to you. . . Naoma

Micky2002

Woowoof aunt Ardy, I'm so happy for you☺☺ Lovely licks♥

puzzeljac

Sad? No you don't look sad, you look lovely. Congratulations Ardy, enjoy your years without school. I'm sure you will have fun☺ Hugs♥

Sissel

Hope all the best for your "NeXT" life - greatings from a former teacher :-) :-)

ringleader

Edie, your description fit best. While it's not easy to admit that part of my life is over, I'm so looking forward to not having all the responsibility. One of the first things on my agenda as you know is visiting you. Thanks, my friend. Hugs

ringleader

Pat, what free time? LOL Thanks.

2dogs7cats

What you should be thinking is "Woo Hoo, I'm outta here". Hope that's how you feel because you now deserve some time for just you. Hugs :-)))

pkin38

Yea .... Now you have to find something to do with all that free time ...

ringleader

You're right, Josie. I did waver for a moment when he said he wished I were staying but only for moment. The time is right. Thanks, dear friend. Hugs.

ringleader

Thanks, Patti. It's a good feeling. ☺

ringleader

Suzy, thanks for your suggestion. I do intend to do just that. I'd love to find one more friend to play with but she is heading off the Maine. ☺

ringleader

Sandi, A few years ago the thought of turning in my keys was overpoweringly sad. But I wished all last year that I had done it a year sooner. I really am ready to leave. It had become a burden. I'm already loving the feeling of not being responsible for so much. Thanks, Sandi.

JOSIESCORNER

Oh dear Ardy, no, you don't look sad, but I know that someplace in there is a hole in your heart. Be sure to fill it with all those good memories and be sure to get out there and live. Love you dear.)

PLG1958

Congratulations, Ardy! Wow!

pumpkinhead

The keys. Oh. That's a HUGE thing!!!
After 54 years, one would feel some tugs at one's heart in leaving. But you sure do look happy!
My suggestion.....go on a vacation when school opens, so your mind will be occupied and you'll be busy opening day. Find some friends to visit and play with. wink, wink!) ☺
Again, congratulations! ♥

SandiT

This looks like a happy picture, Ardy. It is a new beginning. I have no idea how I had time to work and do my garden, greenhouse and flowers. I have trouble keeping up now and I'm here all the time. I know you will stay busy and happy and absolutely love this next chapter of your life.

ringleader

Kirsten, I'm glad to be leaving but I was glad our new principal would like me to stay. It's nice to be wanted and needed. I've been there more than half the life of the school which celebrates it's centennial in 1917. I expect I'll be somewhat involved. lol Yes, I m ready. My life is busy now planning this trip. I imagine I'll find enough to do to keep me out of mischief afterwards as well. Thanks, dear friend. ((HUGS))

ringleader

Thank you, Lucy. I m looking forward to it.

ringleader

Barb, I took my camera with me. I knew I wanted to record this event. Our school secretary is on maternity leave - baby was born this week. The substitute is a mother who worked in the library last year as an aid and one I've suggested as being able to keep things going there. I enlisted her to take the picture. I'm really excited to be getting to meet you and have a vacation during the beginning of a school year and so much else. Thanks, my friend. ♥

ringleader

Chrissie, I'm already wondering when I had time to work. Without Jigidi and my friends here it would be different. Also an upcoming trip is taking my attention away from a school year starting without me for the first time since I started kindergarten some 73 years ago. Thanks.

ringleader

Thanks, Sally. Yes, pole walking - much better (and easier) than pole dancing. LOL Thanks for the hugs. (HUGS)) back to you.

ringleader

What time, Jojosmom? I'm busier than ever. Planning a lovely trip when school starts. Never been able to do that before. Thanks for stopping by.

RandomWorship

Nope! You don't look sad to me. You look like a woman who is ready. Ready to start a new phase in her life. And like Chrissie said - I'm sure your life will be very full soon, if not already. Enjoy Ardy! ((HUGS))

grandmalucy

WHAT A MIXED BLESSING , RETIREMENT. BUT ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. HAPPY HAPPY RETIREMENT.....

tigress

A lovely pic, happy someone took this to celebrate your official retirement, Ardy. 54 years is something to be very proud of!!! I'm sure there were mixed feelings here, both of relief and a hint of sadness. And there's nothing like a celebration holiday north of the border. See you in a few weeks. :-)

foxymoron

Perhaps a tinge of sadness coming to the end of an era but tempered with the freedom of retirement. Well done on so many years of dedication, Ardy. Now it's time to do the things you never had time to do before. After a while you will be so engaged in them you may wonder how you ever found the time to work :-)

SMor2Ditto

Not sad in the least... You look ready to pole dancing.... Oops!!! I mean pole walking and enjoy the heck out of every day... Way to go Ardy... Official Retirement {{{Hugs}}} to you.... 。◕‿◕。 。◕‿◕。

jojosmom417

Congratulations on your dedication and a job well-done!! What are you going to do with all that time on your hands?
