Morris you cannot throw them away. Keep on shooting. Great boom now get a closeup of it. Your new camera can get very close and you can show everyone the markings.

Looks like an historical boomerang to me, not that I know about them, but it sure does look old and original.
I also would like to thank you for putting the song "My boomerang won't come back" in my head. I shall go to sleep singing that tonight!

PLG1958

Very cool! Good thing you saved it!

morris186

Maybe it is worth something?

chookies

If it hadn't been broken, morris, it would be worth quite a bit now! Just look at how the picture in the centre is drawn....that is as OLD as!!!!

chickiemama

I just looked. Nothing al old looking as yours.

chickiemama

Look on ebay for some examples morris. That would be interesting.

morris186

Thanks chickie.
No I did not know that chookies. Thanks for the info. I like chickie figured that it was old.

chookies

It is VERY old, chickie.....it shows how the indigenous caught their food in order to survive. I'm so glad you put it back together again, morris!

chookies

Morris, do you realize that is an original boomerang - most of them these days have patterns painted on and are manufactured by the hundreds, but you can see how the indigenous have burnt the pattern on by a stick from the fire. They sit around the fire, cross legged, and either carve or burn the pattern on then sell them to all the Americans that pass through their territory!

chickiemama

Wow, that's a dandy! It looks quite old.
