Austrailia's Hiller Lake's Pink color still remains a mystery

No one knows - but it is thought to be caused by bacteria. It has been pink ever since it was discovered over 200 years ago & it's not harmful to humans. It has a high salinity & no matter how much rainfall it gets, it stays pink! Fascinating!! It's correct spelling is Lake Hillier, Middle Island & it is east of Esperance, in the Great Australian Bight.
