Just did a quickie Image Search on BING. anitas, I think you're right. There are a lot of pix of these little guys. Not all of them have the hyacinth blue markings but at least half of them did. Overall, the pix shown could be taken as a family reunion for this fellow.
It looks like a red eyed tree frog. If you were seeing it from the top, it would be a bright green.
I expect it's real. Once you get into the tropical jungles, there are amazing creatures to be found. If it were green, it would be just another tree toad. [The suckers on the finger tips are characteristic of tree toads. If you're where there are spring peepers, and can catch one, you can examine the suckers. The peepers (hyla crucifer, named for the 'X' on their backs) are tree toads, even though they hang out on the ground.]
Is this for real? Can someone tell me please? Its such a cute one.
I'd love to actually see one of these
