It reminds me of a slinky. A toy which is a long coil of metal. you can sit it upright at the top of the stairs and lift just the top row or two of the coils. The ones you lift, you can stretch, pulling the coil up behind, but leaving the base on the top step. then put the top pieces down flat on the step below. The part from the top step will come down, but instead of settling down on top of the others, it will go over and the whole will "walk" down the entire flight of steps by itself. It is wonderful fun for a child. And for the child still inside of most of us who are big and call ourselves adult.
