So I go and look through the trees and fence and-COOL- there is a big field and an old tobacco barn. This is the 3rd one of these I've found so far in a state I would expect to find tons of them in. Nice an rough, just how I like them, I think of Chickie and feel happy because the light is better because of NO trees. After checking it out and taking a few photos, I get back behind the wheel to leave and look down the street for cars and WOW...see #3

PG, that is just mind boggling. The only flue-cured tobacco barns I ever saw in NC were real barns, with racks to hold the "hands" of tobacco, and a fireplace on one side to provide the curing heat. Of course, that was a long time ago, in one of my previous incarnations. I bet you could find a few of those old curing barns still standing if you poked around eastern NC. . . .

Warbler there appears to be some old hay in the barn and all the tabackie barns I have ever seen in teh south are a lot more open to help cure and dry the tobacco.
