So this is the pic that got everyone posting theirs. I saw Ardy's so posted one of my own. You look very close in age to what I was back then and all arms and legs as well. I was a total tomboy. Thanks for starting this Suzy. It was fun:-))

morris186

I was 2 months away from hatching!!

niccolino59

A great picture, pumpkin! I was 5yrs old lol!

You look like typical teen of the time, pumpkinhead. I was a freshman at Penn State, watching in the dorm lounge, falling in love with Ringo. Received my first Beatles album a few weeks later for my birthday. I'd forgotten about the threat to cancel their appearance unless the audience settled down. Leave it to warbler to remember all the details!

pumpkinhead

Good memory, Warbler! I had forgotten that part! :)
Surely, much time was spent coiffing the hair Snooker. The "wild look of summer" was not one easy to achieve!

I thought you had spent a lot of time on that hair do. It looked very intricate. :)

warbler

I too remember The Ed Sullivan appearance. There was a tremendous juggler on before them and the audience tried to boo him off stage so the Beatles could come out. Ed came out and reamed the audience out for 0ver 5 minutes and they tried to boo him off. He said he would cancell them effective immediately, which calmed everyone down..until the Beatles came out and it was pandemonium.

pumpkinhead

It was summer, snooker. The hair was what the hair was. I spent most of my time in the lake! :)
Will go looking for others posting pics from the same era!
Thanks, Lorna. I will pretend I turned into something graceful and elegant! :)

Cute photo Suzy. I haven't the nerve to post a photo of myself at any age!!!

Great pic and the hair is making a statement. Think you started something with others posting pics from that year. :)

pumpkinhead

Many thanks Ardy, PG. patsquire, dodgeram, roerick (how awesome that you saw them in person!!! And your mom too!! :) ), Dondi (the hair wasn't long enough?) and pkin.

pkin38

Cute picture ...

dondi

You spent a little time on that hair! What's with the forelock - were you into horses?

I'll see if I can find something presentable. That was the year I graduated from high school, so I at least have the yearbook photo, but that's terrible!

roerick3

Oh, good Lord, I was a teenager and in High School and such a fan. I actually got to go to see them in Chicago that year with a friend and her Mom. It was sooooo exciting I was sure I was going to just die. I looked fairly similar to you--all arms and legs and taller than many of the boys in my class. Such a bummer!!!

Thanks for sharing a fantastic photo of the younger you. You were quite the looker even then.

dodgeram

2 days after my 9th birthday the Beatles were on the Sullivan Show

patsquire

She looks enough like me back then, that I'm not going to ask for a change of gender!

photogent

NUT-N like dat. Bones! I can just see you running down the street with dose arms and legs going in all directions. Not like today.

ringleader

You make me laugh, Laura! ☺ My dad would have called you a wiseacre!

Thank you, Mogens. Always nice to see you.
Most photos scan fairly well, Beekay. The one i really wanted is the one that has decided to be blurry. GRRRR.
Aren't the old photos fun, cinderfire? This one was summer on Rice Lake in Ontario. I was sporting a tan. :)
You are very welcome, Floyd. I hope you're feeling better tonight

pumpkinhead

I need to correct my grammar from my earlier comment. I stated "my brother and I singing".....geesh. Should be ME not I. Has been rubbing my "teacher" side the wrong way since I noticed it!!!

Gladstone

Thank you for sharing your pic of younger years.
Nice to see

cinderfire

Don't you just love old photos?? I show mine to the kids and they all groan "Where did you get those awful clothes mom?".....Yours is sweet instead.

Beekay

I haven't had success scanning photos...I must try again. TSK, TSK Laura!

chickiemama

LOL laura!

laurajane

How cute you are, Suzy! I don't know if I have any photos from then...oh wait...I wasn't born yet.

pumpkinhead

Thank you , Naomi!
Aw, thank you Cathy! I will be watching on sunday! :)

Arms and legs, for sure, Ank. The story of my younger life. :)

You are right, Putter----now if it would just work that way TODAY ☺

Thanks, chickie! I'm sure you can find one or two of them! I have a good one of my brother and I singing, but every time I scan it, it comes out blurry.

Thank you Agnes! So sweet of you!!

anezka

Beautiful girl .... and time flies, already we not girls, but you still beautiful ☺

chickiemama

OH! How cute Suzy! I don't know if I have any pics from back then.

PutterDutt

You were all legs! There IS an advantage to that, you know.......we tall ones carry an extra pound or two fairly well!

puzzeljac

Aww, a very nice photo Suzy, love it. All arms and legs.:-)))) How fast did the years go. At first I did not like the Beatles, they had such long hair:-)))) Hard to imagine now. I will safe this photo.

cevas

You are very cute!! Did you know ...
" There will be a " Salute to the Beatles" show on Feb 9 at 8 PM on CBS channels because it is the 50th anniversary of the 1st Ed Sullivan show they were on that started it all in America. It is on the exact date & time. " a quote from an email from a friend : )))
