Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Ardy, on the grandmalucy's puzzle you asked what the temperaments do the Bengals have. I did not want to hijack her puzzle so I'm replying here on mine. According to the cat clubs their temperament is just like any domestic cat.

"With his distinctive spotted coat and large size, the Bengal looks like a wild cat on the prowl, but although one of his ancestors is the small, wild Asian leopard cat, he’s a domestic cat through and through.
Bengals take their name from the Asian leopard cat’s scientific name, Felis bengalensis. They were created through crosses between an Asian leopard cat — which in the 1950s and into the 1960s could be purchased at pet stores — and domestic shorthairs."

Sorry Janet I didn't see your reply yesterday, but happy to hear that you may have a good photo :)

Thank you Gracie, I very much agree :)

Graciela

What a cute baby! thanks Barb.

I've probably got some photos of him someplace. Will see if I can hunt them out.
Hugs ♥

SunnyBarb25

Janet, thank you for telling me about your friend's Bengal cat. I really love to hear that :)
Could you ask her for a nice photo of her cat?

Thank you Floyd, I agree :)

Gladstone

They are cute.
Thanks Barb.

My friend of 60 years has a Bengal, and he is beautiful to look at and has a beautiful temperament too. He's a darling. He is the third one she's had, as she loves them.
Thanks for this great info, Barb, and what a sweetie. Hugs ♥

SunnyBarb25

I know, they do grow up....but there is a breed that stays small all their lives and that's Singapura. Females are 4 to 6 pounds and males a little bigger. They do keep their kitten looks. Thank you donnebrook :)

SunnyBarb25

LOL Agathe, you are right! I'm glad you like this kitten :)

Brockley

Oh, if only kittens stayed that young!

Sunnybarb, you forgot to mention husband : )))))

The kitten is beautiful !

SunnyBarb25

You are right Anita. Breeders had to eliminate the wild temperament while keeping the wild looks. They say that they succeeded :)

anitas

When they first introduced these, they were not recommended for house pets. From what I've read, anything 4th generation or beyond from the original breeding pair is the same as any house cat.

SunnyBarb25

You are right Ardy and these individual differences in temperament are also true in every living thing on earth, as long as they have brains. I agree with you, I too, like a calm and cuddly cat, dog, horse..... :)

SunnyBarb25

Bengals are not that very common gilfor, that's why you don't know them. Thank you for your comment and nice to meet you too :)

Thanks, Barb. This kitten is adorable. Domestic cats run from extremely feisty to very calm. Guess it's like every other cat then - unpredictable. ☺ I do like a cuddly cat.

Very cute. I've never seen a real Bengal. They don't seem to have any here.
