This vid is only 39seconds long ... but that was exactly how it was for about 45minutes

It was the most fearfull thunderstorm I have ever lived through. The first thunder that reached me from miles away, while only the outer ring of the stormcloud had covered a 4th of my sunny blue sky, made my house shiver in its basic. 10 minutes later a single strong gust foreshadowed it was going to break loose any second. ... and it did ... and it got stronger by minute ... 20 minutes into the storm I felt like a flushed chicken not knowing anymore in which room to feel half way safe.
It was as if the storm itself had sunk to the ground - no rain fell but water was hurling all around. The wind was raging, throwing everything around ... it was so noisy and continuously flashing ...
When it was over I started checking ... and ended up standing in an inch of water in the basement ... doesn't sound much does it? ... took me half of the night to get most of that water out ... and was busy the whole day trying to dry all portable stuff that got sucked, in todays sunshine (all my studies / documents / music instruments / other still packed stuff from the recent move), while continuing to get more water out of that room and checking / cleaning all drains... . I was so lucky it wasn't more, and even my beloved rose-bushes, that have been bent over completely didn't brake and my two bird~feeder~houses didn't fly far away ;-)
Some stats on my area: rain: 32.5 l/qm in 42min, wind: 140 km/h, counted lightnings: 80.000, 5 closed highways, totally crashed public transport (rail & bus) in several cities, 8000 fire brigade demands ... no school the next days :-))))
Six people were too unlucky and died by falling trees and electrocution ... and countless will be left with anxiousness and lost feel of security.
... and I'll have a drink tonight and wish you all well ~ Vivre
