The former Church of St Matthew, Normanton - 10th Sep 2010
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
When the Gwash Valley was dammed to create a drinking water reservoir, it was known that the water would reach above the floor of this church and so it was filled above water level with stone and rubble and floored. An embankment was built around it to protect it from erosion and the building became a museum recording the history of the area, now known as Rutland Water - the second largest man made lake in Europe, by capacity.
