Lovely shot, Patti! Eagles mate for life so these two are sure to have little ones. We have three resident pairs in back of our house, within a mile, and we see them often riding the thermals. On Hornby Island, which is close by, a webcam has been active for the last four or five years, so we've been able to follow the nesting and nurturing of the young - including the emergence of the eaglets from the eggs. Quite extraordinary. Thanks for this :))
Would Rachel Carson be credited with the increase in the numbers of bald eagles in the nation? I think I recall that the preditor birds were being affected the most with the pesticides.
How lucky you are! you have to watch for young in the spring. Accoding to what I just learned, she is the larger eagle on the left!

Thank you, TS, Bluebird, Chickie, Lyndee, Greeneyedlady, weezie, and Suzy! I do feel very lucky to have them around. We don't see them all the time, but sometimes. And this is the first time we ever saw TWO of them just waiting to have their picture taken!!!
