Theme~Homes: Henry David Thoreau Shack: Largest
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
On our trip to New England we visited Walden Pond where Henry David Thoreau lived for 2 years. He said this about the chairs in his cabin: "I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society." The bottom right picture shows a statue of Thoreau. Even though he lived in the shack for 2 years a great number of his friends visited him here including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Bronson Alcott (father of Louisa May Alcott). Since he grew up in the area, he would go home for a good meal and for his mother to do his laundry!
