A glorious pot of golden deliciousness! I love to cook with onions and garlic too. Someone once wrote - "If your friends don't like garlic, change your friends." Hmmm, no, I think I'll educate them instead!
Don't you just feel like you run a restaurant when cooking for the family? I love to cook with onions and garlic etc, but each kid has strong likes and dislikes about the spices and seasonings in the dishes I make. No "easy feeders" in my house lol.
LOL TG........they don't know what they are missing. I had 3 brothers.....2 were like your kids everything seperate and the other brother brought mixing ingredients to an all time disgusting low.......mix everything even if they started out separate on the plate. My son is an "easy feeder"......you put it in front of him and it is gone. :)
fractions still didn't come out ... it is one half yellow onion; one quarter cup sour cream; and one half cup cilantro ... don't know why the fractions don't seem to come across, but you have the correct amounts now! :-)
some of the amounts in the mexican sweet potato recipe didn't come out, so here you go Carol:
3 medium sweet potatoes
1 can corn, rinsed and patted dry
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon butter
½ yellow onion, chopped
2-4 canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced or pureed
1 ounce light cream cheese
¼ cup light sour cream
1 teaspoon salt (+ more to taste)
½ cup cilantro, roughly chopped
6 tablespoons shredded cheese (Pepperjack, Cheddar, Colby Jack? anything will work)
