Neat story! Thanks!
More: The proprietor of the shop said this pig had been made a long time ago by an older gentleman who had since died. Hermenegildo just seems to have so much character in his expression.
My dad and I bought this old pig at Olvera Street in L.A. back in, I think, 1976. It was in a little shop with a lot of other similar items, but it seemed to be one of a kind. He had such a sad face. I remember he was up on a relatively high shelf and looked kind of old already back then. My dad suggested the name Hermenegildo. I think he's by far my favorite pig. Recently I gave away a large number of pigs from my collection, and now the ones I have left are just my favorites.
You have to tell me the story behind this one!
