Thanks Kathy and Gail. It could still be that there are two of them alive and well but I've only seen the one.
Well, one out of three is better than none out of three. Good luck, little guy.
Wow, amazing one of those blobs has already turned into this cute little birdie!
Two days ago it couldn't get more than a few inches off the ground Florrie. I'm hoping that by now it can at least get into some of the lower branches. I haven't seen it again but the parents are still around.
Such a frantic time for the parent birds when their young fledge. Let's hope it's this little one's destiny to survive. It can probably fly a little but needs to grow some tail feathers before it becomes adept. Fingers crossed . . . .
I agree Marilyn. It was just a few weeks ago that they had hatched.
Thanks Laura :-))
So fast they grow up. I know they have to but it seems really fast.
I love your new avatar, Edie!
Yes, that was me about 30 years ago PJ. How things have changed. lol. The robin parents were out today looking for worms and I saw them fly under the lilac bushes so I guess they are feeding the young ones on the ground. They should be ready to fly in a couple of days so I think their chance are pretty good :-))
Oh, Edie such a sweet little bird - just starting out. And now it's a real bird.... I too hope it goes well for the little family...Such a wonderful photo of you - a real smart looking woman!BTW - the robins crying out warnings, quite a racket I assume - you should have heard the seagulls when I unknowingly almost stepped on their little grey furball of an offspring. You bet I hurried away to let them calm down... And I will avoid that path for a few weeks.PJ
You're welcome Jill and Jana :-))
:-))) Thanks a lot Edie :-))))
Wonderful photo, Edie! Thanks :)
Thanks Barb, there may well be two of them out there but I just saw this one and hope it survives :-))
Thanks for the update. Happy to hear one made it this far, Edie. :-)
That's about all we can do Ardy, is wish them well :-))
Glad this one made it this far. Thanks, Edie. Good luck to the little family.
Thanks everyone. I thought he looked a little young to have fledged. I managed to put a bowl over him and was going to put him back into the nest but when I checked the nest it was empty and the parents were dive bombing me so I just released him. Thanks ikook. We're in for some very hot weather so I thought I'd dress accordingly ;-))
Well, at least he made it! Thanks for letting us know, Edie.
Cute baby! Thanks.
Good to know the parents are around and keeping an eye!Don't know when you changed your profile picture, Edie, but it's gorgeous!
Such a cute little guy! ☺
