Thanks, Mazda. Lovey, there are many sugar houses all over Vermont both public and private. What you ate is called sugar on snow - unique name, huh? LOL! Its a traditional Vermont treat but you can do it at home. If you live where it never snows use crushed ice, boil PURE VERMONT Maple Syrup until it gets a little thicker than it was when you bought it - then drizzle it over snow or crushed ice and enjoy. Lots of us eat sour pickles between the sugar. Yummy!
I might have been to this one a long time ago. We boiled the sap 'til it got thick and drizzled it in a thin line on snow. It sets up right away, then we took a fork and wound the hardened sap up on it and ate it. Its very sweet and sticky, but mmm good!
